Anti-Bullying Policy
This Club does not accept any form of bullying whatsoever and we will be prepared to take seriously any form of complaint in this area to stamp out any such action from any child at this club.
We will take each problem seriously, We will investigate thoroughly any reported incidents. We will interview the bullies and victims separately.
Our club Disciplinary Committee will receive a report from our Child Protection Team and then decide on any appropriate action, which may include some/all of the following:
Obtain an apology from the bully or bullies to the victim.
Inform the parents of the victim and the parents of the bully or bullies.
Insist on the return of any items borrowed or stolen. Serious proven cases will lead to the bully or bullies having their club registration cancelled, and reported to the FA for further action.
Any incidents of bullying must be reported in the first instance to your Team Manager/Coach who will then report to the club Senior Child Protection Officer.
There are three main types of bullying to take into consideration:
Physical Abuse: hitting, kicking, theft.
Verbal Abuse: threatening, racist or homophobic remarks.
Emotional Abuse: persistent negative feedback
Possible hostility and aggression towards a victim in one or more of the following forms:
A victim who is weaker and less powerful than the bully or bullies.
An outcome, which is painful and distressing.
Any other forms of physical violence.
Sarcasm, spreading rumours, persistent teasing, tormenting, ridiculing, humiliation, racial taunts, graffiti, abusive gestures or foul and abusive language.
Unwanted physical contact or abusive offensive comments of a sexual nature.
The nature of youth football makes it a potential environment for the bully. This may show itself in some of the following ways:
A parent who pushes too hard.
A coach who adopts a win at all costs philosophy.
A player who intimidates others.
An official who is over officious.
So if you are a bully, then this club is not the place to be.
