The Club Needs You! (03/06/2010)

Sporting FC, Birmingham
Sponsorship Proposal 2010
Sporting FC football club was established in 1994. Over the summer the club will be joined by Cole Hall Lane Colts FC and there will be a total of 11 teams, ranging from Under 8’s up to an open age Adult’s team. The Under 8’s up to the Under 11’s play Short Football and the Under 12’s through to the open age Adult teams play 11-a-side. The club play their home games at Brockhurst Park Playing Fields in Hodge Hill, which is next to the new Tesco.

We are a community club and proud to hold F.A Chartered Standard status. This award shows that we are adhering to the principles set by the F.A for continued development. For more information on this standard please visit http://www.thefa.com/GetIntoFootball/CharterStandard

We are currently looking for a sponsor for next year’s Under 12’s, who will be managed and coached by Jason Bradley. His previous role was the Chairman of Cole Hall Lane Colts FC. Jason’s decision to join his club with Sporting FC will allow him to be more involved with the coaching of players. He is planning to get more involved with coaching and intends on gaining his level two youth FA coaching badge. He will also be the co-ordinator for Sporting FC and their work towards gaining Chartered Standard status. The club are heavily involved in supporting the local community and will be running NVQ coaching courses for players over 16 years old.

We are a big club and our community work shows that we are a great club to be involved with. There are approximately 250 to 300 people directly involved with the club, ranging from players, coaching staff, helpers, and the committee members. The club trains twice a week and plays once a week. The clubhouse is used on matchdays and there are three pitches that are used. We would be happy to arrange for any business that is interested in supporting our club to come and meet the key people involved with us. We have very good facilities and you will see how involved everyone at the club is with enabling the children to get on and play football. Youth development in grass roots football is fundamental to our ambitions.

You will see in the rest of this presentation what we need from a potential Sponsor. We also provide information on why you should get involved in helping our team, and most importantly, what we will do for you in return. We can assure your business that we are worthy of sponsorship and we look forward to building a long term relationship that is beneficial for both parties.

Why should you sponsor a Local Football Team?
There a number of reasons why you may be interested in supporting grass roots football, and in particular Sporting FC. We are aware that any business looking to sponsor us needs a good reason to support us financially. We have chosen to work with Sponsor Football Ltd to give us the best chance of finding a Sponsor as they are dedicated to supporting grass roots football in finding vital financial help.

As a club we look at your support as making a tremendous difference to us. Whilst we are able to take care of the running costs incurred when we play football matches, the vital money needed to purchase new football kits is very difficult for us to acquire. We hope that you are looking to gain new customers and see a benefit in having your brand exposed regularly. Our dedication to grass roots football and supporting the local community and surrounding areas is key to our future success. We aim to establish and create an environment that is safe and developmental which can cater for all of our player’s aspirations.

Sponsorship vs. Advertising
In essence, the end result is the same, to increase the sales or brand awareness of your company. Rather than paying an advertising or marketing company to display your brand and increase awareness of your company, we believe sponsoring is the same, the main difference simply being the route of the sale. By sponsoring local football you will be able to build community awareness of your Products or services, and this differs from advertising as it is non-interactive and requires very little involvement from the business.

By sponsoring a football team, and in particular Sporting FC, you are getting your brand directly to people that will have a keen interest in the local community. By sponsoring our club you are getting your company profile and brand displayed to people that will have an active involvement in supporting the football club and their generous sponsor. Furthermore, with your company name being proudly worn on our football kits, it will result in more exposure via the league and tournaments we compete in. Likewise, further publicity will be obtained through newspapers and websites reporting on our football matches. The addition of this media coverage and potential new customers is greatly increased for your business.

Our commitment to the Sponsor
We would like to show to your business that we have thought deeply about what is involved when asking for financial support, and aware that the current economic climate has caused many problems for local businesses. We currently have a website that is used by our players and is regularly updated. As our main kit sponsor you would also have the largest advertising space on our website and we would be happy to send regular offers by email to everyone on behalf of your business. Our club, and in particular our players, management, and families, would be prepared to use your business’ products and services as a thank you for supporting us. We also know that your business reputation is paramount, so all of our players would be aware that when they are wearing their kit they will be representing you business.

What we are looking for and the costs involved
As a club we are aware that the economic climate has been difficult for many businesses. Due to our understanding of the current situation, we are not asking for one business to support the whole club. We are aware that this is a lot of money for one business. If we were able to find a business to pay for everything then that would be great, however, we are realistic and envisage that we may have up to three sponsors; one for the home kit, one for the away kit, and one for the tracksuits and kit bags. The approximate costs have been worked out as we have done our research and fully aware of the processes to have the kits printed and delivered with very little effort required from our sponsor(s).
Requirement
Approx. Cost
Printed Home Team Kit
£540
Printed Away Team Kit
£540
Tracksuits
£540
Kit Bags
£180

We are working with Sponsor Football Ltd to provide your business with an end-to-end solution, making things simple and providing us both with the help and support required. Once they have received cleared payment from you, they will supply our club with the Umbro football kits, including full colour printing. The quality of the kits will be first class, and they will arrange for your company’s logo to be printed on the front and delivered to our team. They can deal with all of the ordering and delivery on your behalf. Once you have decided to sponsor our team one of their account managers will be in touch to arrange payment details. They can arrange for an additional shirt to be printed with your logo to be placed in a display frame, if required. All Costs can be discussed with our account manager Matthew Summers on 0845 54321 45.
